Here is the answer to Line A #1 Challenge:
Taking the c1-bishop is a bad move; White would then promote with check. Removing the a-7 pawn is better, but White would then take at g5 and can then resist.
Best of all is 1...h6 reserving the a7-capture for later. if 2. h4, then 2...g4, and White can resign.
